Our Hero and having oatmeal for breakfast.
When I am home during the day, I usually make myself some oatmeal for breakfast. I know some of you could just replace the word “oatmeal” with “brussel sprouts” and it would mean the same thing, but this is oatmeal for super-heroes, not oatmeal for people who wear itchy acrylic sweaters.

Not instant oatmeal, or five-minute oatmeal, or quick-and-easy oatmeal! My favourite is steel-cut, or coarse-cut oatmeal. It takes about 20 minutes to cook and has a nutty flavour and you actually feel like you are eating something. I can actually eat this stuff plain, whereas other oatmeals I find myself wanting to bite down on an apple or douse the whole thing with cinnamon to make it edible.

Natural, sustainable, healthy, and it actually keeps me eating breakfast. I didn’t used to like eating breakfast. Sometimes I spoil myself and stir in a spoonful of my mum’s home-made cherry jam.
